Board of Directors

The Emergency Food Network is run by a board of directors made up of 20 to 23 people. The Board is a hands-on, working board comprising five officers (chair, first vice chair, second vice chair, secretary, and treasurer) and 12 operating chairs (bagger, development, distribution, donor appreciation, driver, food, food drives, produce, office, outreach, records, and special projects). In addition, we have up to six members at large, one of whom is a dietitian.

Our 23 member Board is a hands-on, working board. We have a five member executive committee.  The Board meets quarterly, in March, June, September, and December. Our fiscal year runs from March 1 through February 28th.

From its inception until 2011, the EFN was entirely volunteer run, with no paid staff. In the spring of 2011, we hired a part-time office manager. This position has helped centralize our operations and made us more efficient. It also eases the work burden on certain officer positions, making it easier to recruit new volunteers to our Board.
